Welcome to UNET, a university networking platform designed to connect students, professors, and academic staff. By accessing or using UNET, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our platform.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of UNET after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

UNET is intended for use by university students, professors, and staff. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3.2 Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to:

  • Engage in academic dishonesty or plagiarism
  • Harass, bully, or threaten other users
  • Distribute spam, malware, or phishing content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform or other users' accounts
  • Use automated systems (bots) to interact with the platform
  • Impersonate others or create fake accounts
  • Share explicit, violent, or inappropriate content

4. Content Ownership and Licensing

4.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you post on UNET, including posts, comments, notes, and media files. By posting content, you grant UNET a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content within the platform.

4.2 Platform Content

All UNET branding, design elements, software, and features are the intellectual property of UNET and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any platform content without our express permission.

4.3 Academic Materials

Notes, past papers, and other academic materials shared on UNET are intended for educational purposes only. Users must respect copyright laws and obtain necessary permissions before sharing copyrighted materials.

5. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using UNET, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Content Moderation and Reporting

6.1 Moderation

UNET reserves the right to review, moderate, and remove any content that violates these Terms or is deemed inappropriate. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate our policies.

9. Termination

9.1 By You

You may terminate your account at any time by accessing your account settings and selecting the delete account option. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which your university is located, without regard to conflict of law principles.

11.2 Dispute Resolution Process

In the event of any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of UNET, you agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or platform features. We will notify you of material changes by:

  • Posting the updated Terms on our platform
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date
  • Sending an email notification (for significant changes)

Your continued use of UNET after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be replaced with a valid provision that most closely reflects the original intent.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and UNET regarding your use of the platform and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
